Quilpie Shire Council
Have your say
Shaping Quilpie Shire's next ten years
Quilpie Shire Council is developing two new plans, an Economic Development Plan and a Destination Management Plan, to guide the Shire through to 2036. Local input is essential, and there are several ways to have your say between now and mid-September.
Why two plans?
Two Plans, One Shire
Quilpie Shire's economy relies on agriculture, resources and tourism, and each deserves its own clear strategy rather than one plan trying to cover everything at once.
The Economic Development Plan will guide the Shire's economic direction to 2036. It will support business development, industry resilience and diversification, attract investment, and strengthen population and workforce resilience across all sectors, including agriculture, resources and mining.
The Destination Management Plan will guide tourism and events across the Shire through to 2036, focused on growing tourism that reflects local values and community expectations.
The Economic Development Plan serves as the cornerstone for Quilpie Shire’s long-term growth, diversification and regional resilience. The Destination Management Plan supports this overarching strategy by ensuring tourism aligns with and actively contributes to these broader economic objectives.
Together, the plans provide a coordinated, evidence-based roadmap for sustainable prosperity and community liveability.
