The 2024 edition provides a snapshot of accessible and inclusive tourism progress, capturing eight years of insights and milestones since we began our research in 2016.

This edition is designed as an overview and summary of key themes that have emerged over the years, highlighting the real change and successes achieved. It offers a comprehensive look at the sector’s evolution, reflecting the progress made toward more accessible and inclusive tourism practices across Australia.

Our aim is to present a clear, honest view of how far the industry has come, while also identifying areas where further development is needed. The summary uses a straightforward, visual format to illustrate progress in key themes, assessing improvements in accessibility infrastructure, inclusive marketing and communications, service delivery, policies and training for tourism staff.

Through case studies, we showcase operators and initiatives that are setting benchmarks in accessible and inclusive tourism, serving as inspiring examples of positive change.
