Destination North Coast Business Accelerator & Mentoring Program

Destination North Coast invited visitor economy businesses to apply for the Business Accelerator & Mentoring Program. Join the cohort of 80 businesses across the North Coast region who have worked on their business as part of this program and seeing great results including: Wajaana Yaam Gumbaynggirr Adventure Tours, Vision Walks Eco Tours, Lord Howe Island Brewing Co., Coffs Coast Accommodation, Bite Food Tours, Exodus Adventures and many more.

We understand how difficult it has been in the last two years, and especially with the recent floods. This program is free of charge fully funded by Destination North Coast and the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism Fund. It is designed to work with you to support your business to recover and grow.

The Program is designed to support individual tourism businesses through dedicated one-on-one mentoring and flexible group learning options. Eligible businesses will have a dedicated and experienced business mentor to support them every step of the way. It is free of charge, fully funded by Destination North Coast and The Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism Fund.

Benefits include:

  • Pathway learning with the flexibility of working on key areas or challenges in your business.

  • Up to 7 hours of one-on-one mentoring support via phone or Zoom.

  • Flexible hours for mentoring sessions to work around running your business.

  • Online Group Webinar Series.

  • Program resources and guidance to put them into action.

  • Peer support through a dedicated Facebook Group. 

  • Ongoing support from your mentor between sessions.

Tourism businesses on the North Coast had the opportunity to apply for Round Three of the Program which will run from May until September 2022.

Applications were open to North Coast tourism businesses that are currently operating or are in the start-up phase with a registered ABN. This includes businesses from LGAs: Tweed, Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Kyogle, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca Valley, Mid Coast, Kempsey, Port Macquarie - Hastings, and Lord Howe Island.

Places are limited and all successful participants are required to commit to the Program and mentoring sessions. 

The Business Accelerator & Mentoring Program will be facilitated by independent mentors, business and tourism experts, Sparrowly Group. Sparrowly Group has deep experience in building and growing destinations and businesses across Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia.
