- EOI APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED -
City of Newcastle NewSkills Product Development Mentoring Program
Expression of Interest (EOI) applications are closed for the City of Newcastle Product Development Mentoring Program 21-22.
Following the success of the pilot Product Development Mentoring Program delivered in 2021, City of Newcastle is funding an additional program to support and empower ten tourism operators in optimising their business and increasing the number of bookable experiences available in Newcastle.
The Program has been designed to be virtual and will include a deep business review followed by five (5) one on one mentoring sessions tailored for your business needs. Supporting the mentoring program will be access to practical workshop style webinars, access to a curated national business community, tools to apply to your business and ongoing support from your mentor throughout the program.
Program facilitators, Sparrowly Group, will provide training through a mentoring program to elevate and optimise opportunities as the visitor economy returns across 2021 and 2022.
City of Newcastle contracted Sparrowly Group to deliver the pilot Product Development Mentoring Program for Newcastle visitor economy operators earlier this year. They have deep experience in building and growing destinations and businesses across Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia.
Eligibility
This Program is available for businesses who offer tourism products and experiences (this includes tourist attractions, tour operators, transport operators, and food and beverage businesses). Due to the nature of this Program, accommodation providers and events are not eligible. The business owner is recommended to be the participant of the Program. If not, someone who is empowered in the business and has the autonomy to make decisions will also be considered.
This Program is available for businesses who haven’t previously been on the Program. New or existing businesses are welcome to apply, as long as you have an ABN.
Your business must align with one or more of the destination experience pillars for Newcastle. Find out more about the experience pillars here. Indigenous-based businesses can be applied across any of these experience pillars.
